Wiki, Wikidi, Wack….

I’m just kidding. I love Wikis! I think they are the best innovation that has comeĀ  out of Web 2.0 . The idea of people coming together to create, share, and experience ideas , is something that has been lost during the evolution of time. Wikis allow people to partake in the creation of substantive material. I believe people embrace the idea of collaborative efforts. We always hear someone protesting about the fact that they didn’t have an input, or that the material is one sided or biases. Wiki’s give everyones voice, a place to be heard.

Wikis a mocular form of the utopian democratic process. Enforcing the idea that nothing is final until the whole has seen, approve, and added to the content. It also enforcing the idea that content is ever changing and can always be revised; nothing is perfect. The book Wikonomics explores the phenomenon behind wikis , which I definitely believe is a quiet phenomenon. Quiet because I don’t think people really understand how they work, first of all . And second of all, people don’t understand the power that they possess. Imagine if everything was a done in wiki form. Things would definitely take a lot longer, and materials would seem more thought- out, well rounded, etc. I wonder if the government will ever implement the “wiki system”?
